I have joined a women’s accountability group this year and can already feel myself closer to God. We set out on a plan to read and reflect on the New Testament. It has given me drive to not only read, but when I do, I am reflecting on my own written devotions. I used to do it years ago but stopped making time, in all honesty. I write about how I need to apply this to my everyday life and what changes I need to make. God is so good, and He knows just when we need things in our lives to get us back on track.
We were reading Mark in January, and just the verses that popped out at me and the challenges that God set upon me were life changing.
Mark 5:36 “Don’t be afraid: just believe.”
Mark 7:15 “Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.”
Mark 9:23 “Everything is possible for one who believes”
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Mark 13:9 “You must be on your guard.”
All of these verses mean something deep to me. I know that we all put ourselves down at some point and don’t believe that we can have this great life, where we get what we desire. We can! With God and if what we are asking is in His will and pure in heart. I think we all need to reach for the stars by holding God’s hand but then releasing it because we believe in ourselves.
I believe that God helps us, then He also needs us to work for what we truly desire. We let fear take over and say bad things to ourselves or even others. This does nothing but destroy dreams.Think of all the dreams that you wanted to go for but let your own fear or even others talk you out of it. God is telling us to BELIEVE in ourselves, and why not BELIEVE in others? Don’t you want to have a career, family, and life that is worth our time here on earth? I know that I do. Don’t you want to show others what God can do with prayer and dedication? Again, I do.
By reading the book of Mark and really digging in, it made me think of a lot of things. Things that I want to do with my life and things that I need to change because of fear keeping me away. I know that God will take care of me, and I know that He will take care of you as well. We have to start by taking the leap of faith, and God will take the FEAR away.
What is very important to realize is that you will be challenged with bad or negative things, so you must guard yourself from the evil that will attack as you are trying to pursue what God is helping you to acheive. This will not be easy in all areas to achieve, but that is why you have God to turn to.
You should take time today, and write down things that you really want in life. Pray to God that He will show you the way. Get others to pray for you during this journey as well. Start crushing fear and believing in yourself.
