The season we are all walking through right now is hard and heavy. The days are exhausting. The nights are sleepless. And we all feel a little like we are on auto-pilot with a malfunctioning system knowing that at any minute, this plane just might fly out of control and crash. Ok, maybe that’s a bit extreme…but maybe not?

Full of fear, unknowns and loneliness, I find myself struggling to quiet the constant noise. I fall asleep to the noise and I awaken to the noise. The questions. The fears. The worries. The unknowns.

In this season where everyone I know is unpacking very hard things, the weight of our sorrows are so heavy that finding joy and encouragement can be a struggle. So many of us feel like we are pouring from a cup that is not just empty but desert dry. Many days, the only prayer I can seem to whisper is more of a cry for help. Help for my family. Help for my friends. Help for my church. Help for our world.

Each day when I walk into work, the first thing my eyes see is a banner with the words “Good Things Are Coming” printed on it. As the hard days have turned into weeks and then into months, there are days that I honestly want to move that banner out of my view because the things coming can seem like anything but good! But no matter where I turn these days, I am constantly reminded through a verse, a word spoken, a song that no matter our current circumstances, good things ARE coming. If we can stop for just a second to quiet the noise and take a deep breath and remember the God we serve, we can see His promises surrounding us. Promises of hope. Promises of life. Promises of joy. Promises that good things are coming.

The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing to the glory that is to be revealed to us. Romans 8:18.

Good things are coming.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:

Good things are coming.

For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.  2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Good things are coming.

Our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20

Good things are coming!

When we can’t find the words. When the noise is too loud. When we feel like we are barely hanging on. When the hard things just keep coming. Friend, no matter what you are facing, you can find hope knowing that we serve a good God who keeps His promises. We don’t have to have the answers because we can trust that good things are coming. We can walk through this dark and hard time together because we believe that good things are coming. We can find rest in Him knowing that good things are coming.

Remember His goodness. Remember His mercy. Remember his everlasting promises. Good things are coming!
